Task 1. Imagine that you are preparing a project with your friend. You have found some interesting material for the presentation and you want to read this text to your friend. In today's digital age, staying informed has never been easier. Modern news sources have evolved, providing diverse ways to access news and information.
Online news websites have become a primary source of information for many. They offer real-time updates, multimedia content, and in-depth analysis. Social media platforms play a significant role in news dissemination, where news agencies, citizen journalists, and users share news stories.
Mobile apps provide on-the-go news consumption, with customizable notifications and features. Podcasts and video streaming platforms offer a more engaging way to access news content, with the ability to listen or watch at one's convenience.
While traditional print newspapers are in decline, e-newspapers offer a digital version of the same content. Television news channels continue to provide live coverage and analysis, and radio broadcasts remain a reliable source for breaking news.
However, the abundance of information and the rise of fake news pose challenges. It's essential to verify sources, critically assess information, and seek out credible, balanced reporting. In this digital age, responsible news consumption is as important as the sources themselves.

Task 2. Study the advertisement.

You are considering buying a new smartphone and now you’d like to get more information. In 1.5 minutes you are to ask four direct questions to find out about the following:

  1. price
  2. battery life

  4. number of cameras
You have 20 seconds to ask each question
Task 3. You are going to give an interview. You have to answer five questions. Give full answers to the questions (2-3 sentences). Remember that you have 40 seconds to answer each question.

Task 4. Imagine that you are doing a school project “Getting news” together with your friend. You have found some photos to illustrate it but for technical reasons you cannot send them now. Leave a voice message to your friend explaining your choice of the photos and sharing some ideas about the project. In 2.5 minutes be ready to:

  • explain the choice of the illustrations for the project by briefly describing them and noting the differences;
  • mention the advantages (1-2) of the two ways of getting news;
  • mention the disadvantages (1-2) of the two ways of getting news;
  • express your opinion on the subject of the project – which of the ways of getting news presented in the pictures you would prefer and why.

You will speak for not more than 3 minutes (2-3 sentences for each item of the plan, 12–15 sentences total). You have to talk continuously.
